Oct 6 & 7

Oct 6th     Old Town to Brooksville, FL               86 miles Left Suwannee River Bend RV Park in Old Town, FL, a little before daylight. I knew I had 86 miles to go today and wanted to get as many miles in today because through the week route 98 is very busy highway. I headed down to right outside of Brooksville and found a nice campsite by the lake. I went to bed early thinking is this the last 80 plus miles I need to travel. Looking forward only having 40 plus mile days from here out. Oct 7th       Brooksville to Zephyrhills, FL Came down route 301 to Dade City and decided to get something to eat, knowing I have only 40 miles today and have plenty of time. I was about to pull out and head to a campsite down in Zephyrhills, and a gentleman pulled in and wanted to know what I was all about. His name is Dale Forrester. He asked me where I was headed and I told him. He said, “If you like, you can come down to my place I have a camper hook up water, electric and sewer. You can stay as long as you want at no charge.” So I came on down to his place and he helped me get things hooked up and he said, “after you get some rest come up to my shop and I’ll show what I am doing.” He is 82 years old and keeps very busy restoring old IH tractors and he has quite a collection and also toy tractors. Had to think of my friend Lavern in Ohio. I shared stories with him about Lavern and I. I saw something covered up back in the corner. I lifted the cover up and here he had a small JD H. I gave him a hard time having the JD covered up. He has a museum. His wife Joy invited me in for lunch and breakfast in the morning. I am going with him to a Church prayer breakfast. Wow, I have not eaten this much for a long time. Hoping to be leaving here Wednesday morning, putting down route 39 and pick up route 674 west to Wimauma. There is a Church campsite there that I stayed back in 2017. I check my mileage to Sarasota, 76 miles! I am almost home!!!!!! My heart is starting to tick a little faster and it’s getting harder by the day to hold Johnabilt back. He’s like a mare racing to get back home after a long ride!
